Porsche AG was founded in 1931 and headquartered in Stuttgart, Germany. Porsche is a luxury automotive manufacturer, known for its iconic, high-performance sports cars.
Porsche’s 2024 annual report takes the form of a website built around the theme of identity. The site examines this theme visually, through the use of mirrored images of cars.
The images are glossy studio photographs, lit to bring out the shape and form of the cars in a combination of full-body pictures and details. The interpretation of ‘identity’ as mirroring is a curious one. In all but a few instances, the mirroring is straightforward, but enlivened by the sliding movement of the two mirror halves.
In one notable mirroring, the site shows a contemporary model Porsche with an older edition of the car. This stands out because the concept of identity is being considered through time. It’s an effective trick, highlighting the similarities in design through time.
The site also includes short clips of video and interactive charts, which bring a measure of dynamism to the contents. All told, this is a slick, beautifully photographed report.
