Banques Alimentaires du Québec (BAQ is a Canadian nonprofit that coordinates food banks across Quebec. It raises funds, procures food, and distributes it to member organisations in the province.

BAQ’s unusual annual report is presented in a tin. The tiny report is published in three variant covers, inside food tins to match, echoing the work they do.
An annual report is a challenging document to design at the best of times, and to create one at this scale requires clear thinking and restraint.

LG2, the design firm that created the report goes above and beyond, to create a small but beautiful document.
The report uses two modern sans serifs for clarity and is printed in one colour throughout, funneling the budget into the production of the tins and packing the report.

Portraits take the form of line drawings and the tin motif is used for charts.

Colour is used only for the cover images of peas, corn and kidney beans, and in a nice touch, these are printed to scale. This is a clever report and certainly a memorable one.
