Step into the city that never sleeps

Deeply in love with the city that never sleeps, New York’s largest owner of office real estate produces a timeless annual report showcasing their success in acquiring, managing and maximising the value of Manhattan’s commercial property.

Featuring a charismatic full-bleed image of the city’s skyscrapers on the dust jacket cover, with only a simple header, the report exhibits an air of mystery from the start. The title of the report, unconventionally, is found inside the dust jacket along with an ingenious company picture.

Split into three sections the report flaunts a serif ‘New York Times’ font in various font sizes combined with a colour scheme of black, grey, bronze and white that continues throughout the report.

Each section begins with a full-page picture of the city next to a poetically written title page on uncoated black or metallic bronze paper. This stylish union is seen in the highlights page and through a spellbinding graph showcasing SLGRC’s ‘Years of Growth.’

Much like NYC’s charming little hole-in-the-wall spots waiting to be discovered, a secret A3 booklet attached at the centre of the report breaks away from the established colour scheme to tell its own story in pale blue with blue overlaid images.

To add a little more dimension, 3D sculptures of the REIT’s buildings are also included amongst the blizzard of pictures that comprise the majority of this report.

The report relies mainly on the various styles and photographic techniques that appear throughout. Taking up at least three quarter of almost every page (as well as full-page, full-bleed images) these photographs range from black and white shots on black backgrounds to artistic skylines in various lighting to exhilarating low aperture images of the busy city streets and buildings, truly capturing the quintessence of the Big Apple.

Focused less on humanity and more on humanity’s architectural creations, the centred landscape images and text are engulfed by enough white space, adding a little touch of urbanity.

To top it all off, the simple, summarised information and extensive accounts relates the company’s enchanting tale of becoming New York’s largest office landlord. Thus this chic modern design flecked with mysterious little findings perfectly resonates NYC’s infamous vibe.
